Playing at Pink Beach
The moment kids see Pink Beach, something magical happens. Their shoes come off before you can say anything. The sand here is genuinely pink — a mix of white sand and crushed red coral that creates a soft rosy hue. It's warm, it's soft, and it stretches along a calm bay with shallow, crystal-clear water.
Kids can build sandcastles, splash in the shallows, and hunt for shells along the shoreline. It's basically nature's best playground, and no screen can compete.
Snorkeling with Colorful Tropical Fish
Put a snorkel mask on a kid at Komodo and watch their jaw drop. The waters around Komodo National Park are home to hundreds of species of colorful fish — clownfish darting between sea anemones (yes, just like Nemo), parrotfish, angelfish, and more.
No experience needed. The fish are so abundant and close to the surface that even first-time snorkelers can enjoy it fully. It's one of those rare experiences where kids don't need to be entertained — nature does all the work.
Shell Hunting Adventures
There's something deeply satisfying about searching for shells on a beach, and kids are absolute pros at it. Along Pink Beach, the shoreline is scattered with beautiful pieces of coral, tiny shells, and colorful sea fragments.
Kids will spend 30 minutes crouched down, completely focused, filling their pockets with treasures. Bring a small zip bag so they can take their finds home — it means more to them than anything you'd buy at a gift shop.
Encountering Komodo Dragons Safely
Komodo dragons are the world's largest living lizards, and seeing one up close — safely, with a ranger — is the kind of thing that turns a regular holiday into a story kids tell at school for months.
The dragons are calm during guided visits, and the rangers know exactly how to keep everyone safe. For older kids especially, it's genuinely thrilling. Like something straight out of a documentary.
